Montminy Hall was illuminated with a soft, white light reminiscent of moonlight on the snow.
Christmas trees stood guard at the corners of the dance floor, while parishioners and friends shared desserts, drinks, and conversation around tables decked in white. Pairs of dancers moved across the open floor, seeming to float along to the music spilling from the overhead speakers.
These were the scenes at the Notre Dame Council’s first-ever Waltz into Winter Dance. Thanks to the humbling generosity of the more than 30 people who came to the event, not only did we share an evening of dancing and fellowship, but we also raised several hundred dollars to support our seminarians and religious as they work towards studying for their vocation. Special thanks to fellow Knights Pat Dunn for transforming the hall and Nick Roach for providing the music, and to friends of the Council Nathaniel Dwyer for sound support, and Renate Ferrante for teaching the lady’s portion of the dance. ■ Written by Recorder Jackson Andersen
